Encaustic is a wax based paint (composed of beeswax, resin and pigment), which is kept molten on a heated palette and then applied to an absorbent surface. This fun class covers the safe handling of the tools and materials used and basic and advanced techniques such as preparing your surface, painting with wax, fusing, manipulating the surface with heat and other tools, mixed media techniques such as image transfer, drawing on wax, creating lines and edges, incorporating collage elements, and much more. No prior experience necessary. All materials included. Classes are limited to four participants.
